Sugar Cookies

Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract


  1. Sift together baking powder, flour, and salt in a medium-large bowl.
  2. Cream together sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and eggs. Mix in the dry ingredients on low speed until combined. Divide dough in half and shape into disk. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  3. Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thick. Cut out cookies and chill. Repeat until dough is gone. Place cookies on lined baking sheets. Bake at 325 degrees for 15-18 minutes. Let cool.

Notes

Rotate cookies while baking to ensure the browning of the cookie is even.
