Ingredients
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp ground clove
1/2 tsp grond nutmeg
1 tsp salt
12 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 cup dark brown sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup molasses
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add molasses and egg.
- In a separate bowl whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, ground clove, nutmeg, and salt. Add dry ingredients to butter mixture. Divide dough in 3 and shape into disks. Wrap and chill for at least 3 hours.
- Roll out dough 1/4 inch thick. Cut out shapes and place onto lined baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Let cool. Decorate as desired.
