Candied Oranges

Ingredients

4 oranges, sliced
8 cups water
4 cups sugar


  1. Add 4 cups of water to large saucepan. Bring to a boil. Add sliced oranges. Cook for 2 minutes.
  2. Place orange slices in ice water to stop the cooking. Take out of water and place on a wire rack.
  3. Dump the water out of the pot. Add the other 4 cups of water and sugar. Once sugar has melted add orange slices. Cook for 45-60 minutes stirring them occasionally.
  4. Place oranges on wire rack to dry out for 24 hours. Cover in sugar if desired.
