Ingredients
4 sticks unsalted butter, room-tempature
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups sugar
8 eggs
4 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp salt
- Beat sugar and butter on high speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time until combined. Add salt and vanilla extract.
- Divide batter in two 8 inch greases cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Let cool.
Notes
Make sure to thoroughly cream butter as that is the only way a pound cake rises in the oven.
