Confetti Cake

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cup white sugar
1 stick room-temperature butter
5 egg whites
3/4 cup whole milk
1/4 shortening
1/4 tsp almond extract
2 tsp vanilla extract
2tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 cup rainbow sprinkles


  1. Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl until combined. Set to the side.
  2. In a separate bowl cream together the butter, shortening, and sugar. Beat until light and fluffy. Add in your egg whites, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  3. Alternate mixing together the milk, dry ingredients, and butter mixture until combined. Fold in rainbow sprinkles until evenly incorporated.
  4. Evenly place batter into 3 greased 6 inch cake pans. Cook at 350 degrees for about 30-35 minutes.

Notes

Add in egg whites one at a time to ensure the butter does not get too cold.

Yield-3 6 inch cakes
